Connecting a Major Hydroelectric Plant to a National Network
High Grand Falls is a hydro-electric power plant located in Kenya. Our Transmission Network Engineering division drafted multiple technical specifications for the station, allowing it to evacuate the power that it regularly accumulates.
700 MW: that is how much power the High Grand Falls hydro-electric plant is expected to generate. Construction of the plant began in late 2012, on the Tana river, approximately 230 km from Nairobi. Against this backdrop, EDF Transportation Engineering was tasked with putting together the final designs and drafting multiple technical specifications concerning:
- high-voltage lines connected to the plant
- distribution lines
- the evacuation station
- the distribution station
